Art
L A N A fulfilled her ambition to enhance and extend her creative potential by undertaking a Diploma in Art and Design in 2009. During the course she learned new skills and had the opportunity to explore more personal themes in art. She also developed her ideas by experimenting in a range of media and scale and made work of a high quality, showing flair and great care with materials and execution.
Many of her pieces explore the concept of identity and the notion of being assimilated with both the Arab and Western cultures. The Arabic script forms an underlying part of L A N A ' S cultural inheritance and therefore features frequently in many of her works.
She has participated in exhibitions in the UK and abroad. These have included the 'Inspired by...' exhibition at The Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Istanbul Trienali, Istanbul.
